The Empty Vessel

Brent Borup

An "Empty Vessel" in a gospel context means a person that is receptive and ready to be filled with the Spirit and Power of God. If you feel alone, tired, and empty, be aware of the potential you now have in your situation. You are ready to be filled. Stay open to the influence of the Spirit because one can not fill a closed vessel. Likewise, a vessel already filled with negativity and other worldly influences can not be filled. God wants disciples who are open, empty vessels so that He can fill them with His Spirit and then pour His blessings upon others. God is aware of you and is ready to bless you. Look for opportunities to share His light. Take the steps necessary to help Him with His work, and you will be filled. Your abilities will be magnified and your potential will be realized.
